Renowned Czech artist Jaromir Rybák takes inspiration from his last name, which means fish. Using traditional glass making techniques, Jaromir creates abyssal creatures portrayed with sharp expressions and astonishing detail. Iridescent scales line the back of one of his most recent works, as if it swam directly from the depths of the sea to his studio in Prague. When I asked him how they are conceived, he replied, “They are not all reality, but they are my reality.”
